Este projeto visa apresentar aos alunos as noções básicas de Aprendizagem Automática (AA) e Inteligência Artificial (IA) e motivá-los para participarem ativamente em atividades online. Ao criarem, passo a passo, o seu próprio chatbot inteligente (por ex. sobre a Covid-19), os alunos desmistificam esta nova tecnologia e adquirem um entendimento mais preciso das potencialidades e limitações dos algoritmos de aprendizagem automática e da importância de assegurarem não só a quantidade, como também a qualidade dos dados.

Let's save the forests!

This summer our planet suffered from devastating fires and as active citizens, we have to take action. Through this alliance, we aim to encourage students to create a short story presenting the correct behaviours that protect the forests or the wrong ones that put the trees and the animals in danger. Each team will choose to represent the story through an unplugged activity or by using robots. This way, schools will form two groups. The aim of the first group is to guide an element or a robot to step on the right attitudes towards forest protection, whereas the other group will have to avoid obstacles related to human indifference.

The steps are:

1. Create a table or a floor map 

2. Place on your map a start point and a final destination, which will represent a green forest (you can use drawings, toys, pictures, crafts etc.)

3. Put the other elements in random spots of your map

4. Guide your pawn/student or program your robot to meet the green forest.

This is an interdisciplinary activity that helps students to develop computational thinking and programming skills in a fun and engaging way!
