Healthy Eating Coding
They used plugged and unplugged coding to explore healthy and unhealthy food during science lessons. They used coding cards to choose healthy and unhealthy food as they enjoyed exploring various ways to do this. They also used simple online coding to help a bunny follow a trail to collect its carrot. The students explored moving forward, turning backward, and turning right or left.
Code 4 Earth
Description: Students will embark on a hands-on environmental project, applying coding and scientific principles to address real-world challenges. By using devices like Kitroniks and Micro:Bits, students will design and create solutions to environmental problems like drought, acid rain, and pollution. They'll engage in research, experimentation, and teamwork to develop innovative models that promote sustainability. Through this project, students will develop essential skills in coding, problem-solving, and environmental awareness.
Key Activities:
- Research and Analysis: Students will investigate environmental issues and gather data.
- Coding and Design: Using Kitroniks and Micro:Bits, students will create programs to monitor environmental conditions and implement solutions.
- Model Creation: Students will design and build physical models using recyclable materials.
- Presentation: Students will present their projects and explain their solutions to a wider audience.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop coding skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Understand the scientific method and its application to real-world problems.
- Gain knowledge of environmental issues and sustainable practices.
- Enhance teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Develop critical thinking and creativity.
