At D4K days we introduce/teach children in different ways the world of software development. This can be in Scratch, JavaScript, Java or Python. We do this in 3 workshops that will rotate during the day (each workshop is 45 - 60 minutes). They will learn with robots or adruinos or just behind a laptop with codecombats. Goal of the event is to introduce children in the world of software engineering. We hope to inspire them that they will choose a beta education when they are going to secundairy school. Our event is special since we do this totally free for children. They will have a great fun day, learn something, make new friends and go home with a nice goodiebag that will inspire them also at home. Since we exist 10 years this year, we will have multiple events in October 2024.

This workshop is suitable for participants from 7 years old (2nd grade). It is important that the participant can read well.
After an introduction to Scratch, we will build on this knowledge to program our own game.
Workshop +5 jaar -- Programmeren met Vuurtoren

This workshop is suitable for participants from 5 years old (3rd kindergarten class) and is recommended up to the 1st grade.
With our cool Matalab Proset, we will take our first steps into programming.
To keep things varied for our youngest participants, we will also program using an app and color magic drawings that come to life through Augmented Reality.
Workshop +6 jaar -- Programmeren met Scottie Go

This workshop is suitable for participants from 6 years old (1st grade) and is recommended up to the 6th grade.
Using a game board and a tablet, we will learn programming in a playful way. We need to help Scottie on his mission and guide him through different levels.
