On 16 September 2019, the EU Code Week Deep Dive Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) will kick-off. The course aims to expand teachers’ pedagogical competencies and practices by improving their understanding of coding and computational thinking. It will also provide teachers with exclusive access to a series of classroom activities that they can replicate in their school.
The Deep Dive MOOC is open to teachers of all subjects and experiences and will be offered for a period of five weeks. This will allow teachers to start and complete the course at their own pace, depending on their availability and free time. Additionally, the modules will include live events such as remote lessons, webinars and teach-meets.
Building upon the Icebreaker MOOC, this five-module course will offer a selection of classroom activities and resources on topics such as Scratch, App development, Tinkering, Making and Robotics.
Participants who successfully complete the entire course will receive a course badge and a course certificate validated by European Schoolnet and the University of Urbino.
In order to get started, teachers are strongly encouraged to participate in the Icebreaker MOOC as a first step, and can easily find out more information and register at this link.
