Gort Youth Service is a new Youth Service for young people aged 10-24 years funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. Gort is unique in terms of the geographic spread of nationalities, there are 27 nationalities recorded living in Gort. Foróige purpose is to develop and implement a youth education programme complementary to the home, school and work to enable young people to involve themselves consciously & actively in their own development & in the development of society. The Lets Get Coding Gort workshops will run weekly for 5 weeks in collaboration with Corrib Kids Coding who will be facilitating these workshops. It will be a fun, interactive way to encourage social integration among like minded young people with an interest in gaming, coding and robots. These workshops will be aimed at young people who have a basic/beginner level skills in coding through participation in previous workshops, who have expressed a keen interest in further developing their coding skills.
