I am planning activities with my kindergarten students. The objective of the activities is for students to learn how to code simple algorithms for the robot. The start point will be the story "The very hungry caterpillar", by Eric Carle. The teacher reads the story aloud, shows the illustration from each page and then she asks students to recall the story, the days of the week and the food items eaten by the caterpillar. She asks students to match the fruits with the right number and find how some words from the story sound. Then, students are asked to take part in coding activities in which they will use Bee-Bot. You will need a number of arrow flashcards which will be used to guide the caterpillar.

We Code for a Sustainable World
Mon, Oct 17, 2022 8:30 AM

With this coding activity, we aim to use students' coding skills to support sustainability. A sustainable life is very important to protect our world. We can use technology positively and efficiently to support this. We organize this event to increase our students' awareness of sustainability and to develop their computational thinking skills at the same time.
