Dublin 7 Educate Together
Invite-only in-person activity
English
Dublin 7 Educate Together National School, Dublin, Ireland
This event is based on the Hour of Code "Dance Party" lesson and will see primary school pupils work alongside their parents/guardians and grandparents as they explore the core concepts of coding and event programming (using blocks). The children and adults will work collaboratively to: Develop programs that respond to timed events; Develop programs that respond to user input; and Create dance animations with code. This event encourages participants to share their creativity. As the aim of the activity is to combine coding with dancing in a creative way we will begin the session with participants showing off their own creative dance moves to get everyone in the mood. There are approximately 12 steps for the participants to explore as they create their own "Dance Party" through coding. It is not necessary for all steps to be completed as participants will be encouraged to take their time, experiment with coding and most importantly have lots of fun. At the end of the session participants will have the opportunity to text a link for their project to their mobile phone or share the link with friends and family.
