Teams organise events where children, parents, communities are introduced to various programming concepts through different workshops where they can put it in practice, in a fun way, to help under-privileged children to embrace technology by providing all necessary support required in order to offer them a better future. The goal is also to show to the classical education system that the IT professional world is ready to spend time in order to help the education system in building and/or enhancing their computer programming curriculum. Coding & We event aims to create awareness for the need of a basic understanding of today's technology. It strives for children to be taught the basics in order to safely make use of today's technology. This event allows children to: • find their passion in developing ICT skills and will probably become IT professionals; • be in a social environment where they can interact with other like minded children instead of spending their time alone;

Butterfly Algorithms
Tue, Jul 4, 2023 9:30 AM

Computational thinking is a problem-solving process that is used in everyday life as well as computer programs. In this lesson, students apply their computational thinking skills to explore the life cycle of a butterfly. They'll create an algorithm, or set of instructions, to model the life cycle of a butterfly. They will write this algorithm using conditionals and then program it on a computer.

Students will:

  • Analyze the life cycle of a butterfly.
  • Develop an algorithm that describes the cycle.
  • Apply conditionals to an algorithm.
  • Finish and test the algorithm of a computer program to demonstrate the life cycle of a butterfly.
